BENTE stands for the Board of Education Non-Teaching Employees, and our union represents hard working men and women that provide the basic necessities of life for your children: cleanliness, security, food, safety, supplies, transportation, and support.

We are consistently working on behalf of our membership to negotiate better contracts that ensure decent health care, equitable raises, and fair treatment in the workplace.  Our members are the backbone of the Rochester City School District, and the services that they perform are necessary for schools to operate efficiently.  As president of BENTE,whether you are a member of our union or not, I encourage you to browse our website to learn more about the support staff that supports students!

Members of BENTE LOCAL 2419As promised, we are excited to introduce to you our website: yet another means in which we look to increase communication with our membership. In addition to the quarterly newsletter that you will continue to receive, our website offers yet another mechanism from which union members are able to obtain more up-to-date information on pertinent issues.

In addition to the latest news and current events, you will be able to access the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, general information on the Officers in your specific unit, a Photo Gallery, the BENTE Catalog, and other benefits and services that are provided.
Check back often as we will be adding information weekly - even daily - if there is an issue that is of pressing concern to our membership. Our current Collective Bargaining Agreement runs from 2011-2014, with a 3% raise each year of the contract for those off-steps.

We thank you for supporting all of the union representatives who fight to support you in your role as a vital employee here in the Rochester City School District!
